In our hometown, there is a village where everyone speak English only. If you think that people in the village are native speakers, then you are quite wrong. In fact, the villagers are ordinary Chinese as we are. Why do they speak English only? The story began from ten years ago.
Ten years ago, a boy named Li Wei gratuated from Beijing University of Foreign Language. He gave up working in big cities and were determined to do something for his hometown. He returned home and found kids in his village seldom had any chance to learn to speak English. He had an idea and called on people who wanted to learn English to organize an English corner. By and by, the English corner became more and more famous. And people from other places came a long way to attend the English corner. Later, someone suggested giving the corner a name. Thus "English Village" was born.
