My new university term
I am lucky that I am accepted into the XX University for the new academic year as a year one student. The university life is very different to that of the secondary school. The campus of the university is very large, it has many faculties each having its own building. Students may not have fixed classroom or classmates for the subject they take. Also students can live in dormitory with their dorm mate(s). There are two canteens in which students and professors can have meals together.
As a year one student, there are a few compulsory subjects that I must take. English is one of them. I am not strong in this subject and hence I have to spend extra effort to catch up with my classmates. However, there are many elective courses that students can take to suit their interests. I take the computer engineering course as I am fond of playing computer games. In the university computer laboratory, there are new models of PCs for the students to use in writing and testing computer programs.
The attendance of the courses enrolled is important for you to get pass in the subjects. If you miss any class and do not complete assignments by the professor, you will have problems in the examination. One privilege enjoyed by university students is that they do not need to wear uniform as in secondary schools. Students can wear casual and stylish clothings. This is particular liked by the girls. There are many extra-curriculum activities in the university. Students are free to join any club or association that suit their interests. My new term in the university is excited and busy for a new comer as I am.
