Should the traditional Chinese characters Be used?
I'm very interested in the recent discussion over whether the traditional Chinese characters should be used officially.Some people think we should use them.They think that the traditional Chinese characters,which were created by the ancient Chinese people,and had been used for thousands of years,have a beautiful shape and are good-looking,and can show the great Chinese culture.What's more,they can be easily reconized.They also think that from traditional Chinese characters to simplified ones is a depression.But other people hold an opposite view.They believe that from simplified characters to traditional ones is actually a progress,which can meet the demands of today's fast-developing society,while the traditional characters can't,for they are difficult to write and memorize.
In my humble opinion,I agree with the second view.The function of character is firstly to pass the messages among human beings,so the simpler,the better.Moreover,the traditional Chinese characters haven't been used for many years and the simplified ones have been used and accepted throughout China for a long period of time.We really should not take the silly step backward.Hower,I don't oppose to using the traditional Chinese characters in some occasions for special purposes.
