1.My mother is a village woman, who is already in her fifties. She had very little school education, but she knows that knowledge is of great importance to young people. She often asks me how I get along with my studies and encourages me to study hard.
My mother takes good care of me and does everything she can for me, so that I can spend more time on my study.
Once she was badly ill and had stayed in bed for several days. When I got home to see her at night, I found the light was still on and mother was sitting in bed, making new clothes for me ! I was so deeply moved that tears came to my eyes.
2.One day three men got a bottle of wine. But the wine was not enough for them three and each of them wanted to drink the wine alone. Then they all agreed that they each would draw a snake on the ground and the one who first finished drawing would be given the wine. So they began to draw on the ground with sticks.
It was not long before one of the three finished drawing his snake. He found the other two were still busy with their drawings. “How slow you are ! ”said he, “I can even add feet to my snake before you finish yours. ”
He put down the bottle and began to add feet to his snake. But before he finished, another man took hold of the bottle and said, “I’ve finished. Snakes have no feet, so yours is not a snake. ”With these words he drank up the wine.

In fact, all of us were afraid that Miss Li would no longer be with us. At this moment, Miss Li appeared at the door. She looked tired and pale.
“I’ll be missing you badly, ”she said in a low voice, “I have asked the doctor to put off the operation till tomorrow because I don’t want you to miss a single class. ”She went on, “A new teacher will take my place and I hope you’ll get on well with him. I’ll come back as soon as I’m better. ”

5.My Home Town
My hometown is in the southeast of Shandong, a seaside village.
It is a small village. There are about 600 people. Most of them are peasants. They mainly plant wheat, corn and cotton. Some of them often go fishing in the sea.
Great changes have taken place in the past ten years. Now the peasants here use tractors in their work. A lot of new buildings have appeared. Many families own fridges and some even have air-conditioners. In the evening they watch TV as the people in cities do.
There is a primary school in the village. Most of the peasants’ children are studying in college now.
I love my home town. I believe she will become more and more beautiful in the future.
6.Today we visited a farm. Early in the morning, we met at the school gate and went there together The farm workers gave us a warm welcome. Then the head of the farm showed us around.
How glad we were to see the crops and vegetables growing well. At noon we had a picnic lunch in the sunshine. After a ten minutes' break, we had great fun singing and dancing, telling jokes(笑话) or stories. Two of us even played a game of chess. The time passed quickly. Before we knew it,we had to say goodbye to the workers.
Yao Ming is my favorite basketball star. He was born on September 12th,1980, Shanghai. He is 2.26 meters tall and about 134 kg weigh . His favorite color is blue, and he likes eating meat very much . When I was six years old, my parents often took me to a swimming pool . They taught me how to swim. They told me not to be afraid of water , and told me to jump into water bravely. Later I became very interesting in swimming. Swimming is really very interesting .If you swim in the water, you will look like a lovely fish . Great fun. .I'm sure you will feel very happy. 10 Mr Li is one of my beloved teachers.He taught us physics when we were in Senior 1.He was old,but he taught very well.He could make his classes lively and interesting. Mr Li made good preparations for his lessons and was strict with us,too.Whenever we made mistakes in our homework,he would ask us to correct and do it again. I used to be poor in physics. Mr Li often helped me with my lessons very patiently.Thanks to his help and hard work,I have made good progress and caught up with the class.As a retired teacher,he's still working hard for our educational cause(教育事业).
