1、busy 不仅指人处于忙碌状态,也可以指事物处于繁杂的、琐碎、凌乱的程度.但是,事物名词用作be busy 的主语,这个事物必须有人的存在.事实上,所谓的busy 是由人引起的,也就是人在其中忙碌,而不是这个事物自身生成的.

例如：

The ward was busy and Amy hardly had time to talk.病房里非常忙碌,埃米几乎没有时间说话.

I tried to reach him,but the line was busy.我试图和他联系,但他的电话占线.

修饰表示事物的名词定语也是如此

2、由此可见,be busy with 的本意是“主语与 with 的宾语都处于忙乱的状态”.如果句子主语是人,with 的宾语是物,含义是“主语（人）处于忙碌的状态,同时伴随着有人存在的介词宾语（事物）也处于杂乱的状态”,反之也是如此.
