改革开放以来,旅游业在我国从无到有,从小到大,迅猛发展,成为国民经济中发展速度最快的行业之一.目前全国已有25 个省区市把旅游业确立为经济发展的支柱产业或先导产业.巨大的旅游市场意味着需要大批的高素质旅游从业人员,而目前旅游业在人才方面面临两大问题:一是旅游从业人员欠缺,二是从业人员素质良莠不齐.这些问题极大地困扰着我国旅游业的健康稳定发展.
为了培养出满足社会需求的高素质涉外旅游人员,必须具备过硬的语言交际能力,即不仅要实现语言的准确性,还要体现语言的美感,否则会大大影响游客的游览效果.因此培养旅游英语专业学生英语口语交际能力是专业教学的首要目标.通过调查研究发现:旅游英语学生听说能力提高的主要障碍表现在语音、词汇、跨文化知识和心理障碍.
